nether portal at -304,,-135 (over -2481,,-1163)

and it's almost hugging a bastion!

and another at -387,, 159.  but looking for a fort.  Didn't touch this treasure bastion.

still traveling east on the south side.  Will go back soon, same path I think.  

Well that was crazy.  found a fortress eventually, died, refound it, died, and ...

Time to call it a night.

 Not a creature is stirring except for my mouse.

portal 37,,202 deep underground.  Nether 27,,31.  in the middle of a fortress!!

wow.

My skills are panic, flee, and fight.  Not "throw the gold to the angry piglin that got in your tunnel".

bastion at -379,,-100.  I got a nice haul of gold blocks under here, ran back to retrieve them after dying, tried 5 times, finally made it, got my tools, but every gold block was gone!  Thieving piglins!  Now I need to find another bastion to make this run work.  Dang.

Collected enough supplies to look for another bastion.  Died with them out there somewhere.

This world had so much potential!

Playing minecraft notes Dec 21. Shortest day of the year, sitting at my screen.

housing bastion partly raided.  Not enough pearls, but three fire potions.

blind traveled to another desert.  My portal is hovering over the ocean close to  -4080,, 1602.

Dec 18 Storm day evening speeeeeeedrun

 Loading up a new world.   Let's see what my luck produces today...

Quit.  Died after a long unsuccessful search for a bastion.  Found a fortress.  killed by the second wither skeleton to attack me.

Dec 15 night before concert relaxation

 This is a time restricted session.  Starting a fresh world, try to get into a bastion before quitting in an hour.

Village at 250,,550 in desert

lava pool near village at 134,,761, side of hill.  Nether location of portal 20,48,84.

but I need 3 more iron and food.  Got them at shipwreck.

Looks like a fortress at about 300,,350.  

Will go to pos neg next... but found bastion in 257,,111.  

It's a bridge

approaching fort from 385, 73, 322.  

I blocked myself in to think.  I have lots of fire res, but only 7 meat.  and no more wood for weapons.

tomorrow, plan attack on fort, but maybe go supply up first.

I did that, then died needlessly and mercilessly in lava.

Resupplying again.  Went to bridge again.  Not finding much gold.  

Will have to look for another bastion I guess.  Or mine up nuggets enough to trade?

December 12, Friday nights are all right for fighting zombies

 Alright, I'm actually better at fighting sheep.

I'm cooking at 192,,-438.

I have a few supplies, looking for lava.

Found at 229,,438.  Nether coords: 31,67,43.  In basalt.

Going pos pos: nothing

looking at neg pos  - looks like basalt delta.  I don't want to go there.

found treasure bastion at -208,,-320.  So far no dying!

never mind.  I placed a chest for storing loot, and when I opened it i got chopped by a zealous piglin.  close to lava so I'm sure I'll lose most of it if I can get back here.

Scanning overworld for food and resources first.  Found two villages and Desert temple.  Not enough gold yet.

Got it now, from shipwreck.

-555,,335 ruined portal where I tried burning all my new supplies in lava.

Ok I have recovered most of my loot in the bastion.  I have three fire res and lotsa blocks.  I will next:

look pos neg for fortress (go east 500 blocks):  as predicted, I did find a fortress along that line!  And a spawner close, and I had fire res, and I ate food, and I blocked off the entrance to the spawner, and didn't die, collecting 9 blaze rods!!!!  and I used a pearl on the way back!  And found my portal and I'm at base!  

Next time, triangulate and travel!  I guess I can use nether travel since I have pearls and one more fire res.  I need the chart though.

I'm at 624,,130 and will build portal here.  I can see a bastion to the southeast of me across a lake of lava.  btw I left the lower treasure at my first bastion untouched in case it's needed.

I've come out on a tiny sandy island at 5042,,1039.

first throw 18.5 second throw 19.3.  Difference is .8, so head south about 1250 blocks to z=2200.  Lean a bit to the right as well.

1. 91  2. 97  difference of 6, distance of 170 ish.

found it.  I've been dealing with the end 

6.84 hours.  again.  

I was doing so much better!  Then I had to kill the dragon basically twice because there was some glitch that kept her from taking damage.  So I restarted the game and resupplied, and then the dragon's health was restored for some reason. 

any way  I thought I would be under 5 hours this time.  [shrug]

Dec 8 Fresh Start

 Started with some meat and a Pillager outpost.  

Lava at 71,,-670.  Dont have iron yet though.

Lava pool 2 at 237,,-432.

Lava pool 3 at 225,,-174.

New lava pool at     with nether coords 172,,-42.  

Heading for pos/neg quadrant. 

There was a treasure bastion in sight!  I died a few times getting started, but collected most of the stuff and traded many gold.  Only lacking in arrows.  Got a looting sword, so that will be helpful!

Looking for fortress.

Found at -400,,-288.

died to a wither skeleton near the spawner up in the open - tried getting away around the corner to the left.

Next time come back here and finish the job.  Got three rods already, if they're still there.

yikes.  I keep trying to get back there with varying levels of preparedness.  I am not ready to do the speedrun that avoids all damage.  I keep dying over and over to hoglins, piglins, falls, and now that I got gold helmet and a few blocks and weapons, my game froze!!  i hope i'm not back to base. 

Ok I'm in the end, died again, but will go in and collect the stuff which is under a enderman shelter.  I was just at the fountain trying to bed bomb, but the enderguys got in my line of sight.

19 deaths, 6.8 hours.

Reflections:  I tried making a bed platform at the fountain.  I had trouble getting the beds to place there.  A couple of them worked but I mostly just hacked it with a sword from underneath after shooting the crystals.

Dec 5 New attempt. Did not complete the previous.

 And... I'm ok with that.  right???

New world.  Found hoglin stables straight south of portal.  Traded a bit already, got two fire res.  I just was killed there, in front of the middle rampart, by hoglins.  Should be able to recover well.

Did it.  Exploring the bastion.  Cant find middle staircase.  And dead again.  in the bottom middle, i think.

Can't get it back.  Resetting.

Dec 5 Effort #2.

Lots of desert near spawn.  Two desert temples, and a village near a lava pool beside a shipwreck.  Not far from a buried treasure.

If I fail now...

I'll look in next quad:  pos/pos..........nope, its a fortress.

I'm seeing a fortress at -144,,-344 , west of me.

How about neg/pos:..............  I tried getting to a good neg/pos position but it's kind of blocked up with netherrack in high banks and walls to the roof.  I guess I could dig through, but it's probably a waste of time.  Plus I keep dying.

Ok.  I'll gear up and look farther for a bastion.  I still have good supplies back at base.

I'll try to go straight east from portal, aiming for 600,,-250.  I should pass the fortress on the way.

Long story short:  I went about 2000 blocks east.  Found a treasure bastion and looting it, I forgot a piglin might be above me.  got killed.  Respawned back at base, determined to follow my footsteps all the way.  Got off track a bit.  Gave up on the treasure.  Found a bridge bastion!  I have got the chalice in hand.  Now I parked myself until such a time as I can safely make a trading zone.  Looks like I just need to avoid getting killed by the hoglin that remains.  Also it would be handy to have chests and get some iron.

Ok I did that before going to bed.  I have traded all the gold.  Got everything but enough pearls.  I can just boat a bunch of endermen in this area though.  

I don't want to jinx it, but I'm still under 6 hours.  If I find a fortress quickly, maybe sub seven?  Hours, that is...

I must have looked at an enderman in the bastion.  And in 1.16.1, a single block in a corner over my head isn't enough to block his attack.  Then I geared up again to come rescue my loot, and when I stepped on a lava-level bridge made of soul sand, I burned!  I think your feet sink into it a bit, and then you touch lava if you're close to the edge.  I think I might make one more careful run for it.  If I have enough supplies stored at base.

I had enough.  Then got killed twice within 300 blocks of the portal.  

Time to try again fresh.
