In the back of my mind...

My long term goal is to win a mountain bike race. I'll let you in on my training and research Click her for my research and training protocols (this is not boring - click for a good laugh).

New wheels for old riders

Old? Nine years, anyway. This young lady has graduated to 26" wheels.

Yes, it is an unbelievable 16" Trek OCLV with SRAM x-0, SID, Race Face cranks, and Eggbeaters (not in use yet). We bought it used from a fantastic couple in Winnipeg.

We prayed for a good replacement bike for J to race with, then stopped worrying about it. This bike came via a response to a want ad we left on Kijiji. Thanks to the Lord (and Deanna)!

J loves the bike and is like the wind on this lightweight piece of art.

Well that allows T to move out of singlespeed into gears.

Stella is getting a paint job and a new motor. Look for it in a few weeks.

Bill the Cat

For my brother Pat. Here is your nephew. A chip off the old uncle block! And neophyte Bill imposter M.

Oh, also a picture I found of another hardcore Bill fan.

Calcium helps leg cramps?

Leg cramp research - calcium, etc
It looks like calcium should be taken with magnesium but it should never be taken with magnesium.
So much for internet research.

General recommendations for nutritional supplementation: To avoid stomach problems and promote better
tolerance, supplements should always be taken earlier, or in the middle of a larger meal. When taken on an
empty stomach or after a meal, there is a greater risk of some tablets causing irritation, or eventually erosion
of the esophageal sphincter, resulting in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It is also advisable not
to lie down immediately after taking any pills. When taking a very large daily amount of a single nutrient, it is
better to split it up into smaller doses to not interfere with the absorption of other nutrients in food, or nutrients
supplemented at lower amounts.
